CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE-ASSOCIATED PRURITUS (CKD-aP)
Chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus (CKD-aP) is a common and often distressing symptom for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially those on dialysis. It is characterized by persistent itching that can significantly impact quality of life. CKD-aP is very itchy skin that is most common in patients with advanced CKD and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), but which can also happen in the early stages of CKD.
